FOYER Oxford residents will get some hospitality experience under their belt and on their resumes with a gig at the Light Up Leederville Carnival launch.
Residents will work as wait staff at the November 15 long table lunch, which kicks off the annual Leederville street festival, now in its sixth year and expected to attract about 60,000 people.
Foyer Oxford manager John Thompson said it was the second time residents would have this opportunity.

READ NOW“We worked closely with organisers Leederville Connect last year, which was the first time this happened,” he said.
“There will be about five people doing it and the opportunity gives young people some more experience in hospitality, and we often have employers attend the event.”
This year’s carnival will feature a pop up cinema, photo booth, mini golf, roving performers, fashion parades, markets and rides.
City of Vincent Mayor Emma Cole said the event brought out the best of Leederville.
“It’s vibrant and whimsical with local fashion, food and arts on show,” she said.
Synergy’s Shine a Light campaign, which is part of this year’s event with a Christmas lights trail, supports Lifeline and raising awareness of West Australians in crisis over the festive season.
The 2017 Light Up Leederville Carnival is on December 3 from noon to 9pm.
