MOUNT Lawley Senior High School is the inner Perth suburbs’ biggest winner in a State Government funding package for WA schools.

The school has been allocated a nearly $630,000 share in the $200m package for high priority maintenance works.

Principal Lesley Street said the school was “delighted” by the funding, which would go towards improvements and maintenance.

“The money will be used to upgrade the design and technology facilities and for some minor works and improvements. All of this will greatly benefit our students,” she said.

Other local big winners include West Leederville Primary School, which will receive $233,446 for classroom refreshments and toilet upgrades, and Mt Hawthorn

Primary School, which has been allocated $162,407 for carpark upgrades.

The funds include maintenance works for all schools.
