Grants available for Perth businesses

Giovanni TorreEastern Reporter

PERTH businesses are being encouraged to apply for a Business Grants Program run by the City of Perth.

Matched Funding Business Grants are intended to support creative projects in the City by meeting financial contributions from private enterprises working projects to activate under-used space, capital investments such as building fit-outs or restoration, or aesthetic improvements.

Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said the City would match funds of up to $20,000 from successful applicants to recognise the contribution businesses make to the cityscape.

“By matching businesses dollar-for-dollar to realise their ideas, the program enriches the community and adds long-term social and economic benefits for our capital city,” she said.

“City of Perth encourages all eligible businesses to apply for the grants to help reach their full potential and contribute to the activation and appeal that draws visitors and drives the City’s economy.”

Applications for Matched Funding Business Grants close on July 22.

The City is also offering cash grants of up to $2000 for businesses within the City of Perth to assist with start-up, expansion or other projects as part of its Small Business Grants Program.

Details are available here, or potential applicants can contact the City’s Economic Development Unit on 9461 3198 or ecodev@cityofperth.wa.gov.au.

Small Business Grant applications are open until mid-2017.
