PERTH Homeless Support Group is hopelessly devoted to feeding those living rough with a fundraising singalong screening of Grease on September 1.
The group hosts monthly film screenings of blockbusters, chick flicks and classics at boutique cinema The Backlot in West Perth.
Attendees are encouraged to dress up for the screening of the classic musical Grease, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
Group President Ron Reid said money raised would help pay to feed up to 200 people at Wellington Square on Sundays.
“When the group started we were feeding about 40 to 50 people on weekends, but now it is from 150 to 200 people,” he said.
“$10 can feed someone for a day but $12 gets nine items including non-perishable food and toiletries.”
The group also provides sleeping bags and socks for Perth’s homeless.
Mr Reid said the group held bake sales and quiz nights to raise money.
Backlot Perth managing director Ian Hale said he was excited to collaborate with the group.
“I am incredibly proud to support Perth Homeless Support Group’s selfless work in the community in providing assistance for those most in need,” he said.
