Half-time with basketball heroes

The half-time initiative will return for the 2015-16 National Basketball League season during Perth Wildcats home games, after the partnership between the Wildcats and WA property group Hawaiian was renewed.

Perth Wildcats managing director Nick Marvin said the halftime initiative was one of the most-loved elements of home games at Perth Arena.

"To give junior basketball players from different backgrounds the opportunity to experience playing in front of over 10,000 fans, on the same court as their heroes, is fantastic and something they'll never forget," he said. "Inspiring young people is a big part of what we do and Halftime with Hawaiian really provides an important platform for this."

Hawaiian director and chief executive Russell Gibbs said the partnership played an important role in the company's community program.

"One element of our community program is around giving experiences to help inspire and engage with our local community groups," he said.

"Helping these kids have the chance to experience playing on the same court as some of their basketball idols is something we're proud to make a reality."
