HERITAGE property owners in the city could receive up to $40, 000 for restoration projects from the City of Perth.
Owners of properties listed on the City’s Cultural Heritage Register or the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority’s heritage inventory can apply for a share in $400,000 of funding.
The City will financially support successful applicants with heritage fabric reconstruction and restoration, facade works, conservation management plans and removal of non-structural intrusive elements.
Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said heritage buildings gave a fantastic opportunity to preserve the identity and unique sense of place in Perth.
“Owners of heritage buildings in the CBD, Northbridge, West Perth, East Perth and Crawley, have a very special asset, but we understand there are costs and other difficulties involved in maintaining or adapting the buildings for contemporary use,” Ms Scaffidi said.
Applications close on January 30.
