High school student hospitalised after lunch-time incident

A Mt Lawley Senior High School student has been taken to hospital following an incident on the school oval at lunch time.

A St John Ambulance spokesperson confirmed an ambulance had been called to the school early this afternoon.

Police confirmed there had been an “incident” at the school involving three students.

The teenager’s injuries were said to be “minor” and they were taken to Perth Children’s Hospital at normal road speed.

In a statement, the Department of Education said the student had been taken to hospital “as a precaution”.

“Police are dealing with the matter,” the statement read.

“Two students will be suspended for 10 days each over the incident.”
