SHELTER WA is putting homelessness firmly on the public agenda to mark Homelessness Week, holding a debate today in the city centre with political and community leaders.
The peak body for homelessness in Western Australia, Shelter WA invited representatives from a number of political parties to outline the policies they will bring to the State Election in March 2017.
Hosted by Christina Morrisy, the forum is designed to give the public an opportunity to find out more about – and perhaps influence – the key decision makers in the state.
Panellists included Greens MLC Lynn MacLaren, Opposition spokesman for Housing; Local Jobs; Training and Workforce Development Fran Logan, and Opposition spokeswoman for Community Services; Children’s Interests and Women’s Interests Simone McGurk.
Representatives from the Barnett Government were also invited to the debate at the Central Park Conference Centre on St George’s Terrace.
The free event is ongoing, having commenced at 11am and due to end at 1pm today.
