Hunt on for arsonist who set building basement fire

Jon BassettEastern Reporter

A SUSPECTED arsonist lit a fire that set off sprinklers at a building in Perth.

Senior Sergeant Craig Davis said a man entered the stairwell and lit a fire on the basement level at 878 Hay Street, near Shafto Lane, between 8am and 8.30am on May 12.

The fire was extinguished by the sprinklers, but the water caused damage to the building.
