CITY of Vincent councillors will tonight discuss extending Hyde Park Reserve at a briefing session.
Council in June considered a report on expanding the reserve by closing off a portion of Hyde Street, Mt Lawley in a move to create more public open space within the City.
The suggestion was advertised during August and 245 consultation packs were distributed to potentially affected residents.

READ NOWTwenty-five responses were received with 20 in favour of the proposal and five against.
Comments received against the proposal were related to reduced parking and traffic congestion.
An amount of $120,000 has been included in the 2017-18 capital works budget to undertake the project, which would include demolition, removal, disposal and preparation for at a cost of $30,000 and civil works at a cost of $45,000.
Landscaping, irrigation and furniture is set to cost $25,000.
