In doing so, the 15-year-old ” who sustained severe injuries after being hit by a car in 2011 ” raised more than $3500 for Princes Margaret Hospital.

Jo spent three months at PMH receiving extensive medial care, and undergoing physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy.

‘When I had my accident, PMH helped me to recover quickly so I wanted to do something in return for them,’ he said.

‘The run was tiring and there were some parts where I felt like my feet were about to collapse, so I used my mum’s shoulder for support.

‘When I turned the corner towards the end, there was a giant festival of people cheering.’

Jo shared his fondness for Schwarzenegger.

‘It was getting boring in the hospital so I looked up Arnie quotes, which were hilarious to me,’ he said.

‘I tried to repeat them ” including ‘I’ll be back’ ” but it was difficult for me talk so it wasn’t easy, but I kept trying to repeat them.’
