AFTER 35 years together, Joy Wilcox and Sara Haddock tied the knot in Hyde Park in March.

The couple, who met on Halloween in England, featured in the City of Vincent ‘Vincent loves love’ campaign leading up to the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey last year.

The social media campaign told the stories of same sex couples living within the City, which the couple was “very proud” to be part of.

When the survey results came in on November 15, the couple said they already had their sights set on a March wedding.

“I proposed to Joy many years ago before it was even a thought but if it ever became a possibility, we would marry,” Ms Haddock said.

“We’ve had a long time to talk about it.”

More than 12.7 million Australians voted in the survey, with 61.6 per cent in support of marriage equality and 38.4 per cent opposed.
