K-Mart issues recall over dangerous toaster

K-MART has issued a recall over a dangerous toaster.

The toaster, a Home & Co two-slice stainless steel model TL-136, could have a faulty switch, causing the heating element to remain live – even when the lever is up and the toaster remains off.

There is a risk of electric shock if the user makes contact with the heating element.

The product was on sale from September 1 last year until November 1.

Customers should cease using the product immediately and return it to any K-Mart store for a full refund.

For more information consumers should contact Kmart Customer Service on 1800 124 125 (Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm AEST) or go to http://www.kmart.com.au
