Leederville homeless event draws youths

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

FIVE organisations teamed up for the second time last week to raise awareness and offer a helping hand during Homelessness Week in Leederville.

YMCA Youth HQ hosted the event on Wednesday that saw Mission Australia, Perth Inner City Youth Service, Salvation Army’s Crossroads West and Red Cross come together to offer free clothes, sausage sizzle, hair cuts and other activities for local youths.

Shelter WA gave a grant to get the event going, which drew about 100 people over three hours.
