Life on Perth’s streets to be revealed in homelessness report

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

AN extensive new report on homelessness in Australian capital cities will be released in Perth this month.

The State of Homelessness in Australia’s Cities: A Health and Social Cost Too High report draws on more than 8600 interviews with homeless people and provides an insight into their health and social needs and aspirations.

The report brings together evidence from seven years of Registry Week data collections by homelessness services and volunteers in cities including Perth and Fremantle.

On April 13, the WA Alliance to End Homelessness (WAAEH) will respond by launching The Western Australian Homelessness Strategy, a 10-year strategy to ending homelessness in WA, which it has worked on for 18 months.
