Local band The Brow to play Ship-Wrecked! Battle of the Bands

MT Lawley resident Josh Terlick will join his The Brow bandmates Ben Fear, Josh Ellis, Nic Owen, Karri Harper-Meredith and Sam Timmerman at the Ship-Wrecked! music festival Battle of the Bands competition on April 9.

The brass and beats party band was selected from more than 60 local artists for one of five spots in the competition.

“The Brow promises to raise the roof of the inaugural Ship-Wrecked! music festival,” festival managing director Daniel Bruce said.

“The Battle of the Bands was so well received, it highlights the need to identify, encourage and nurture Western Australia’s local talent.

“We are very excited to have our local Battle of the Band winners showcased alongside the plethora of state and national artists”.

Festivalgoers will hear The Brow perform their song The Mantra, which has been nominated in the urban/hip hop category in the 2016 WAM Song of the Year.

Ship-Wrecked! will transform McCallum Park into Perth’s largest artificial beach, complete with sandpit playground, two stages and market stalls.

There will also be performances from Melbourne indie rock group Kingswood, Perth duo Mosquito Coast, Thundamentals, Holy Holy, Abbe May and Shannon Noll.
