DONATIONS to the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund (LMDRF) victims of January’s South-West fires will cease to be taken on May 31.
The appeal has raised more than $8.1 million, with $1.4 million already distributed to victims of the fire, which tore through Waroona and surrounding areas.
“The board has begun distributing financial support to people who made applications for assistance under categories one, four and seven,” Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said.
“The categories were designed specifically for this disaster, to provide financial assistance to as many people as possible.
