Man charged over 2017 attempted abduction in Mt Lawley

A MAN has been charged over an attempted abduction in Mt Lawley 18 months ago.

Sex Assault Squad detectives laid the charge after an investigation into the incident, which occurred on August 18, 2017.

It will be alleged that about 8.40am, the man attempted to abduct a 15-year-old girl who was jogging along Clifton Crescent near the alleyway between Second and Third Avenues.

It is also alleged he assaulted and threatened her before she was able to break free from him and run away.

A 50-year old man, currently in prison, has been charged with assault with intent to commission a crime.

He was also detaining another with intent to prevent/hinder person doing act and threatening to kill.

He is due to appear before Perth Magistrates Court on March 20.
