Man with knife suffers burns at McIver train station

A MAN has suffered burns after touching train lines in Northbridge this morning.

About 8.40am police received reports of a man with a knife in the Northbridge area.

Police responded to those reports and followed the man to the McIver train station.

The man received injuries on the train line, and was treated by St John Ambulance.

An SJA spokesperson said a man in his early 40s suffered superficial burns and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

It is not clear exactly how the man was injured.

Inquiries into this incident are ongoing and anyone with information or anyone who saw the man prior to the incident at the McIver train station, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Armadale/Thornlie line trains were delayed between Perth and Burswood as a result of the incident.
