MENORA locals have come together to make a difference for disadvantaged women this Christmas.
Residents and staff from Bethanie on the Park along with friends and family donated bags and goods for the national ‘It’s In The Bag’ campaign.
Handbags are donated and filled with items like makeup, sunscreen, shampoo, jewellery and personal handwritten cards to brighten the festive season for women in need.
The donations have been gathered over the past month, and a group of residents joined together to pack 35 bags.
Chaplain trainee Kyla Hillmer said it was the second year in a row residents had taken part.
“We had a bag packing party with residents from Bethanie on the Park joining in the occasion wearing Santa hats to pack the bags in the spirit of Christmas,” she said.
“Everyone had such a great time and it was very exciting to be part of such a good cause.”
