Menora: Masonic Care pool upgrades finished

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

THE $115,000 upgrades to a Menora retirement village’s indoor pool and spa were unveiled this month.

Masonic Care’s Lawley Park Retirement Village held a ceremony to re-open the facilities on March 1, followed by a morning tea.

Retirement Living Manager Jeanette Arlidge said the pool drew people who had not swum for a long time.

“As people are getting older they are much more conscious of keeping well; we now have residents using the pool who haven’t swum in year,” she said.

“It’s really great to see the facilities being used to their full advantage.”

Village chief executive Marie Louise MacDonald said residents were consulted about the upgrades.

“The residents were all consulted and included as part of the refurbishment, the finishes, colours and overall ambience of the pool area; it was really down to their choices,” she said.
