STREET Soccer players had a special meal waiting for them after last week’s game in Wellington Square.

A group of Year 11 Mercedes College students helped set up and run the three fields on Tuesday, along with preparing dinner for the teams. The Big Issue’s Street Soccer program runs across the country, providing an opportunity to people facing issues like mental illness, homelessness, refugee status, drug and alcohol dependency, and more to come together in a safe environment to have fun and make friends.

The Mercedes College students made 85 hamburgers for the players, with their work coinciding with Anti-Poverty Week.
