Mondo Butchers introduces meat-to-car delivery service for the busy

Denise S. CahillEastern Reporter

FOR Lisa Last, getting from her home in Bassendean to the shops without one of her two toddlers falling asleep was impossible some days.

Then Mondo Butchers owner Vince Garreffa started an in-car service and free delivery that means Ms Last and other mothers, fathers, grandparents and babysitters don’t have to leave their car or the comfort of their home.

Mr Garreffa said anyone caring for children could phone through their order, pay by credit card and staff would deliver their goods straight to the car when they arrived.

“When I was a kid, that was one of my first jobs in a butcher shop, to carry meat to people’s cars,” he said.

Or the Inglewood butcher will deliver free for people who live within 20 minutes of the shop.

Mr Garreffa said he had a daughter-in-law with three children and noticed the pressure she was under driving around running errands.

“In the last five years there’s been a baby boom in this area,” he said.

Ms Last said she used the in-car service regularly but would also have her Mondo meat delivered occasionally.
