MRA investigates porn site being displayed at Yagan Square

AAPEastern Reporter

HACKERS uploaded the home page of a porn website to an electronic touch screen at Perth’s new Yagan Square.

The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority has begun an investigation into who uploaded the Pornhub home page, which pedestrians saw when they walked past the information screen at a mall entrance on Thursday evening.

An MRA spokeswoman said the inappropriate content was on show for a brief period of time, and promised a full investigation will be undertaken.

A second screen at the other end of the mall also appeared to have been compromised, but did not display offensive content.

“Both screens were immediately turned off and power has also been switched off to the units to eliminate all possibilities of a recurrence,” the spokeswoman said on Friday.

“The MRA takes this matter very seriously and will undertake a full investigation to understand how this event has happened and identify those responsible.”
