MT Hawthorn is set to show off its fashion finesse at its upcoming Streets and Lanes Festival.

WA Fashion Edit (WAFE) will feature a line-up of the state’s best independent fashion labels including ILKA, Hickey Hardware and Wild Horses at an Oxford Hotel runway show.

Local design duo Kate Wilks and Erin Taylor from ILKA will be bringing a shopping element to WAFE, with tickets enabling attendees to shop the runway.

“People will be able to experience local fashion in an easy, breezy manner,” Ms Wilks said.

“These are products that stand the test of time.”

Ms Taylor said buying local was comparable price-wise to other labels, with their store stocking their own ILKA label along with 32 other WA brands.

The pair said the Mt Hawthorn end of Oxford Street was up and coming as a fashion hotspot.

“The City of Vincent has been doing up the road and trees, it’s being treated as a town centre,” Ms Taylor said.

Doors open on Sunday, May 5, at 4pm for a 4.30pm start.

Tickets are $41.51 including booking fee, with $35 redeemable on product for transactions over $150, and are available from Eventbrite.
