MT Hawthorn’s Earlybirds Playgroup (EBPG) will unveil upgraded play equipment at its open day this weekend.
The rundown playground at the facility, for children ages zero to four years old, received a makeover with the help of volunteers.
Volunteers also spent weeks getting the interior of the building up to standard, fixing and cleaning cupboards, painting walls and getting the water running again.

EBPG spokeswoman Vivienne Ryan said the organisation hoped the makeover would help attract more members.
“These works were imperative if we were to keep operating as our membership levels were falling due to the state of the building and we were at risk of closing our doors to the 65 families that were members,” she said.
The open day is on Saturday, November 25 from 10.30am to 12.30pm at 87 The Boulevarde, Mt Hawthorn.
