MT Lawley Golf Club officially unveiled its 19th hole this week.

The new part of the course will serve as a practice hole and is the first stage of several projects planned to enhance the course and clubhouse.

Construction began in August this year.

Members gathered at a ceremony on Monday to see the new hole and witness the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.

Marie Westlake was also made the fifth life member of the club after being involved since 1971.

Members were invited to suggest a name for the new hole, with ‘Jacaranda’ announced the winner after receiving the most votes.
