Mt Lawley man arrested as part of mafia raids in Europe

A 38-YEAR-old Perth man has been arrested in Germany as part of a raids on the mafia across Europe.

Domenico Condo, who was born in Mt Lawley, was allegedly arrested with a quantity of drugs.

He is among at least 80 people who have been arrested, with police seizing about 2 million euros ($A3.1 million), cocaine and ecstasy pills.

The raids in Germany, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands are part of an operation, codenamed Pollino, which launched in 2016 and have been targeting a powerful branch of the Italian mafia for its involvement in international drug trafficking, money laundering, bribery and violence.

Mr Condo is also the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant from WA Police.
