New classrooms on the cards for primary school

The State Government has committed $5.5 million for the building, which will include new classrooms and is expected to be finished by 2018.

The building will replace two demountables being used as classrooms.

Education Minister Peter Collier said there were a record 293,000 students in public schools this year, and that number would continue to grow.

Perth MLA Eleni Evangel said principal Barbara Iffla, former principal Cristina Sandri and former school board chairman Philip Goldswain had worked behind the scenes on the proposal.
