New portal for learning

Ms Banaszak said she wanted to learn German but could not find anything that suited her specific learning needs at the time, especially because she could not walk.

‘I thought ‘why can’t there just be one, central place where you can do a quick, easy search and find something to learn that suited your needs,’ and it went from there.’

Yellowbanana is an online directory where users can find a teacher for anything, with the search narrowed down by location, price, rating and teacher qualifications.

Ms Banaszak said the categories include everything from work experience, volunteering to sports and higher education.

‘Although, I’d like to see a ‘how to juggle’ class up there, I’ve always wanted to learn to juggle,’ she said.

‘Obviously we have only just started up, so the more support and feedback we receive from the local community the better.

‘At the moment, teachers can sign up, create a profile and upload their classes for free so I’d encourage people to head to the site and pop their class info up.’
