Councillors at last week’s council meeting voted to write to the Minister for Local Government seeking an explanation.
Several residents from the area opposed the split during public question time, including Caroline Cohen, from the Banks Precinct Action Group.
She said the proposal affected about 270 homes and more than 450 residents from the region.
‘We are not content to be removed and placed with Bayswater, who we have no connection with,’ Ms Cohen said.
