A NOTORIOUS paedophile who spent 13 years in a Thai jail for sexually abusing children has lost his bid to challenge a WA prison term.

Bradley Pen Dragon, who has spent most of the past 26 years behind bars, was in January sentenced to four years and four months in a WA prison.

That sentence was for accessing child pornography at an internet cafe, two days after he was released from jail for attempting to rob a woman in front of her baby while brandishing a knife.

Bradley Pen Dragon has spent most of the past 26 years behind bars.

Dragon spent almost five hours on a public computer at a backpackers hostel in August 2017, the WA District Court heard in January.

Among the terms he searched online were “Russian child models”, “pre-teen porn” and “anime child incest”.

On another day, he spent six hours on a public computer to view content involving children aged between two and 16.

When he was questioned by police, Dragon denied deliberately searching for the child exploitation material.

“These things just keep popping up when I use the internet,” he told police.

Dragon sought leave to appeal, arguing two grounds including a manifestly excessive sentence, but both were rejected on Wednesday.

The WA Court of Appeal judges found they had no reasonable prospect of success.
