The halftime initiative will return for the 2015-16 National Basketball League season during Perth Wildcats home games, after the partnership between the Wildcats and WA property group Hawaiian was renewed.

Perth Wildcats managing director Nick Marvin said the halftime initiative was one of the most-loved elements of home games at Perth Arena.

To give junior basketball players from different backgrounds the opportunity to experience playing in front of over 10,000 fans on the same court as their heroes is fantastic and something theyll never forget, he said. Inspiring young people is a big part of what we do and Halftime with Hawaiian really provides an important platform for this.

Hawaiian director and chief executive Russell Gibbs said the partnership played an important role in the companys community program.

One element of our community program is around giving experiences to help inspire and engage with our local community groups, he said.

Last season, the reaction we saw from the kids that took part was overwhelming and the feedback from coaches, parents and teachers about the change they saw in some of the kids simply reaffirms for us why we place so much value on being able to give back to our communities.

Junior basketball teams can apply for the chance to take part at www.hawaii-an.com.au/ community.
