Parking restrictions on the way

NEW parking restrictions will be imposed on two Leederville streets.

City of Vincent councillors approved the introduction of two-hour parking restrictions on Galwey Street and Salisbury Street at their meeting on February 9.

Parking restrictions on both streets will be implemented between 8am and 5.30pm from Mondays to Fridays.

Galwey Street from Oxford to Scott streets and Salisbury Street from Oxford to Shakespeare streets will be affected by the restrictions.

Residents east of Shakespeare Street will be consulted on a proposal for two-hour parking restrictions between Shakespeare and Loftus streets.

Councillor Emma Cole said she expected parking issues around Britannia Street to increase once the changes came into effect.

“They will probably be the next streets to request the restrictions,” Cr Cole said.

“We should earmark that next.”
