Perth band Demon Days in running for slot at Falls Downtown

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

AFTER a successful 2017, members of Perth band Demon Days hope to kick off 2018 in the same fashion.

After being nominated by magazine Music Insight, Demon Days is one of six acts vying for a spot on the Falls Downtown Fremantle line-up in January, but need votes to get them across the line.

If they win, the band would share a stage with Flume, Fleet Foxes, Liam Gallagher, Run the Jewels and Foster the People.

The band has already scored two nominations for this year’s WA Music Awards (WAMs) and a nomination for lead singer Bella Nicholls for WA Live Voice of the Year at the National Live Music Awards, all while completing their first national tour.

West Leederville drummer Mark Ashforth (19) said playing at Falls would be a “dream come true”.

“Getting the opportunity to play Falls Festival would be insane,” he said.

“Music is my biggest passion in life and to get to play at a big festival alongside some of my favourite artists would make me so proud, and like this ‘musician thing’ is really going somewhere.”

Music Insight editor-in-chief Anni Fordham said the talented group had a distinctive and eclectic sound that was turning heads.
