Perth bracing for rain and storms over the weekend

PERTH could be hit by a summer deluge this weekend, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting as much as 35mm of rain could fall from Sunday.

With a scorcher predicted for Saturday and a top of 37 degrees, the heavens are tipped to open on Sunday.

The Bureau said there is a 40 per cent chance of rain, with the potential for 20mm to fall.

It’s more of the same on Monday, with a top of 33 degrees and a 40 per cent chance of showers with 0-8mm predicted.

There’s also the chance of a storm on Tuesday before the city returns to a more typical summer pattern on Wednesday, with 33 the expected maximum.
