BARRACK Street is blocked after a car crash at 10.03am this morning at the intersection of Barrack St and the eastern end of Hay Street Mall.

A Toyota Coupe heading south hit a red Ford Falcon utility, whose direction was unclear.

Traffic is banking up and motorists are urged to avoid the area.

A Department of Transport compliance officer was immediately behind one of the vehicles and police and a City of Perth ranger are in attendance.

The drivers appeared uninjured but motorists may wish to avoid the eastern side of the city centre until the crash has been cleared.
