PERTH businesses and residential consumers had a frustrating morning after an iiNet outage left many without access to the internet.
The issue started two hours ago and was “due to a loss of power to a data centre in WA” which left “multiple services/tools disconnected”.
Residents and workers took to social media to express dismay at the outage.

Significant outage for @iiNet has brought the office (and many others like it) to a screeching halt.
On the upside I can be sure that no cyber attacks are possible on my @iiNet connected clients for the moment.

iiNet’s most recent advice urged residents whose services have not reconnected automatically should “powercycle your modem in an attempt to restore connectivity”.
“Some services are still impacted, so in the event that this does not resolve the issue, please monitor for further updates,” the company said.
“Please be aware that a large number of tools are still unavailable and may result in difficulties when contacting our customer service team.
“Engineers are working to restore the remaining services as soon as possible.”
