FRIDAY has started shakily in Perth as some residents were woken by earthquake tremors early this morning.
The 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck at 5.10am this morning in the Lake Muir area near Walpole. roughly 370km from Perth.

However, despite roughly 370km separating Perth and the affected site, residents reported being woken by the quake.
Okay this is big news for Perth as we never get them…but I legit was woken up by an Earthquake. I’m the top level of an apartment building so I really felt it. Thought I was imagining it until the good people of Twitter confirmed it did indeed happen 😂😂 #Perthquake #Perth

It was the second earthquake Perth has felt this year, following a 5.5 magnitude quake in the Lake Muir area in September.
