Perth: first person charged under tougher graffiti laws

POLICE will allege the first person charged under tougher graffiti laws was carrying two spray cans and eight marker pens when he was arrested.

The man alleged tagged near the Murray and Pier street intersection on October 26.

“It will be alleged the man’s graffiti tag is prominent throughout the area,” Senior Sergeant Craig Davies said.

The South Perth man (19) was charged with five counts of damage caused by graffiti and possession of a device to apply graffiti.

He will be summonsed to appear at Perth Magistrates Court at a later date.
