Perth Library receives more architectural awards

PERTH’s new library has received even more architectural awards.

Doric Group representatives were present at the most recent Perth Council meeting at which the City acknowledged their work on the exemplary building.

Last month, the library was honoured at the Master Builders Australia Awards as winner of the National Entertainment and Recreation Facility catergory, and at the National Architecture Awards (Australian Institute of Architects) with a Commendation in the Public Architecture Category.

The library received an Honourable Mention in Interior Architecture Projects and in Institutional Projects at the Singapore Architects Awards in October.

It came after being shortlisted in the Public Design Category of the Australian Interior Design Awards, winning the George Temple Pool Award, the Jeffrey Howlett Award for Public Architecture, and a commendation in the interior architecture category at the WA Architecture Awards.

It also scooped the pool at the 2016 Master Builders -Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards, being honoured as a 2016 Bankwest Best Project Finalist; Best Public Use Building over $10 Million and Best Building Fitout over $10 Million.

It is the first purpose-built building ever to host the City of Perth library.
