A FORMER senior adviser to Western Australia’s treasurer has been charged with indecent assault following an incident at a ministerial Christmas party.
Steve Kaless, who last month quit as the media adviser to Treasurer Ben Wyatt, was charged over an incident on December 13.
It is alleged the 44-year-old indecently assaulted a colleague, aged in her 20s, in the bar area of a Perth hotel.
Kaless is scheduled to face Perth Magistrates Court on January 29.

READ NOWLast month, Premier Mark McGowan described the incident as “unwelcome physical contact” with a female colleague.
She complained and Kaless was suspended indefinitely before he resigned.
Kaless previously worked as a policy adviser for Mr McGowan when Labor was in opposition.
