Perth: Mine worker charged after allegedly stealing more than 2.3kg of gold

POLICE have charged a mine worker from regional WA after he allegedly stole more than 2.3kg of gold, some of which he sold in Perth.

Gold Stealing Detection Unit offices charged the man, alleging he came into possession of the gold while working at a number of mine sites.

He then sold the gold in Perth and Kalgoorlie over a number of occasions between June 2015 and December 2016.

The 38-year-old Somerville man was charged with possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property and will appear in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on Monday, March 19.
