THE Perth Mint’s $1.8 million Australian Trilogy coins have received worldwide interest since they were unveiled on June 6.

Premier Mark McGowan launched the three coins almost one year after former Premier Colin Barnett helped reveal a world first $1 million Kimberly Treasure coin, featuring a 0.54 carat red diamond from the Argyle diamond mine, was crafted from 1kg of 99.99 per cent pure gold.

Perth Mint’s latest collector’s item, now for sale, features an Australian Kookaburra coin crafted from 99.99 per cent pure gold, depicting two kookaburras gazing toward a 0.47 carat round brilliant cut Fancy Deep Purple-Pink diamond.

The Australian Kangaroo Crafted coin was crafted from 99.95 per cent pure platinum, portraying the animal bounding over a 0.46 carat emerald cut Fancy Dark Gray-Violet diamond.

To complete the trilogy, the 91.67 per cent rose gold Australian Koala coin illustrates this native marsupial beneath a eucalyptus tree in a rural landscape beside a 0.58 carat emerald cut Fancy Intense Pink diamond.

A Perth Mint spokeswoman said several interested buyers had made contact.

“A majority of them are international,” the spokeswoman said.
