PERTH Mint’s $1.8 million Australian Trilogy coin collection has sold four weeks after it went on the market.

Premier Mark McGowan unveiled the one of a kind trilogy on June 6 and last week it was sold via Singapore-based Glajz-THG Pte Ltd to an anonymous collector.

The collector’s item features an Australian Kookaburra coin crafted from 99.99 per cent pure gold and a 0.47 carat Fancy Deep Purple-Pink diamond, Kangaroo coin crafted from 99.95 per cent pure platinum and 0.46 carat Fancy Dark Gray-Violet diamond and the Koala coin has a 0.58 carat emerald cut Fancy Intense Pink diamond.

Perth people will have until July 31 to see it on display in the Perth Mint Shop before it is collected by its new owner.

Perth Mint chief executive Richard Hayes said the item “raised the bar on the concept of ‘unique collectable’”.

The company is a joint venture between John Glajz and the public listed company The Hour Glass Ltd, specialising in the global distribution and marketing of rare gemstones and luxury fine jewellery.
