Perth MLA John Carey to hold road safety forum

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

PERTH MLA John Carey will hold a community forum in August to discuss pedestrian safety on Charles Street.

The forum will be held in response to a number of residents raising concerns with Mr Carey on the difficulty of crossing the northern section of Charles Street.

He said residents told him high volume traffic was an issue.

“During the election last year, I committed $250,000 towards a permanent crossing or alternative safety improvements,” he said.

“This commitment remains, however, I want to ensure genuine community engagement and discussion about the best option, given potential benefits and limitations each option could deliver.”

City of Vincent and Main Roads WA representatives will also attend.

The forum will be held on Wednesday, August 15 from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Kyilla Primary School, 4 Selkirk Street, North Perth.
