PERTH MLA John Carey hopes the force is with his constituents this Star Wars Day as he opens his electoral office for a meet and greet.
The self confessed Star Wars fanatic has chosen May 4 to invite people to his North Perth office to raise local issues, with his extensive Star Wars Lego collection to be on display.
“Every weekend I door knock at least one street and that’s my way of reaching people, but also I want my office to feel that it’s welcoming and warm to people,” he said.

“I know people will think it’s going to be a slightly weird theme, but I always try to be an authentic politician.”
He said his hobby, which he does not shy away from on his social media accounts, broke barriers with constituents.
“People come up to me and they’re intimidated or a little bit nervous and say ‘this is the first time I’ve approached a politician’; I want them to feel comfortable,” he said.
“It connects with kids and adults.”
Mr Carey said he got hooked on Star Wars Lego when he received his first pack as a Christmas gift.
“A friend gave me one for Christmas and said ‘you need to relax and get more work-life balance’; I did and went ‘wow I love this’,” he said.
Mr Carey’s office at Suite 2/448 Fitzgerald Street will be open from 11am to 7pm.
Anyone who attends will go into the draw to win a prize.
