Perth: Police officers spread festive cheer to Salvation Army

Jessica WarrinerEastern Reporter

TWO Perth police officers have helped spread Christmas cheer far and wide this festive season.

A woman from regional Western Australia was visiting Perth and when she got off a bus she realised her phone had either been lost or stolen.

She reported the matter to police, a person of interest was identified and the mobile phone was returned.

Senior Sergeant Simon Underwood said the owner had been extremely grateful and purchased a gift card for the officers in appreciation.

“After discussion with the phone owner, both she and the police officers decided the gift card would be better used to benefit others in need at this time of year,” he said.

“It was decided the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal would be the beneficiary.”

The gift card was presented to staff at the Salvation Army earlier this week to assist their with their community projects.
