Belinda CiprianoEastern Reporter

EIGHT WA designers will take to the catwalk in Perth Racing’s Prive Fashion Platform Runway at Ascot on October 7.

Head stylist and event producer Juvelle Behrendorff will co-ordinate the spring summer looks for designers Jonte Designs, Jessica Bratich, Only one Ashley, Suited for Him, Ete Swimwear, J. Porter Clothing, Reny Kestel Millinery and Tania Claire Accessories.

The Leederville resident said she was excited for the event, which allows attendees to purchase looks straight off the runway.

“Priv is about celebrating Perth designers, both menswear and womenswear designers and accessories too.

“The added bonus is that attendees can shop the designs showcased on the runway directly after the show.

“It isn’t just a runway show and as producer and head stylist, it’s my job to make sure it is as spectacular as it was last year, or more so.”

The Australian Style Institute’s Stylist of the Year said after a successful inaugural event at Ascot last year, partnering with Perth Racing was logical and hoped it would continue.

“Ascot and Perth Racing were a big support last year helping to make the first Priv Fashion Platform a success so it was a no-brainer to build upon that partnership for this year,” she said.

“I would love to see it become an annual event, where all Perth designers are welcome creating a varied and exciting runway event each year.

“I would in turn love to continue my involvement helping to make each year a bigger success.”

As for spring/summer trends Behrendorff said guests could expect to see lady-like silhouettes, metallics and sparkle.
