PERTH will host Australia’s biggest tourism trade event in 2019 after the State Government, through Tourism Western Australia secured the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE19).

ATE19 brings together Australian tourism businesses, wholesalers and retailers, from around the world, through a combination of scheduled business appointments and networking events.

Tourism Minister Paul Papalia said that with Perth’s transformation into one of the nation’s most interesting destinations, he is confident ATE19 will be the city’s time to shine for an international audience.

“We want Perth to be one of the most desirable leisure and business event destinations in the world, and ATE19 gives us an extraordinary opportunity to position ourselves as Australia’s western gateway,” he said.

International travel buyers and media will have the opportunity experience all the changes that have happened around Perth and Western Australia first hand through pre- and post-event familiarisations at a variety of destinations around Perth and regional WA.

“ATE19 will bring hundreds of key international wholesale and retail buyers as well as journalists and digital influencers to explore what’s on offer in Perth and regional WA,” Mr Papalia said.

About 3000 delegates, including key Australian sellers and buyers from more than 30 countries, and more than 80 international and Australian media, will attend this event.

Organised by Tourism Australia, in partnership with Tourism WA, ATE19 will take place at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 8-12, 2019.
